Grandpa Brown's 75th Birthday Party

My Dad's Dad turned 75 on Labor Day, so we had a little party for him. It was great fun, and my Cali cousins made us some delicious Mexican food, it's their specialty. I think that's all they know how to eat, but it's fine by me because I love it too! Brighton had lots of fun with his cousins and meeting new faces. I love my Grandpa so much and I am so lucky to have him in my life! He lives in Alpine in a Pepto-bismal pink house, it's the best! I have such fond memories of having sleepovers at his house with my cousins and sleeping out on the tramp with them. I remember I loved waking up and eating Lucky Charms, and he always had yummy Flintstones push-up popsicles in his big freezer in the garage. I loved going to all of the Alpine Day's festivities with my family, and being in the parade when we were little. He also used to have a huge orchard and we'd walk out to the creek which we pronounce "crick" of course and roast hot dogs, play in the water, and swing on the tree swing. Love you Grandpa! Happy Birthday!

Fort McHenry

This was a fun place to go to learn about our country and our freedom. Not a lot of time to write... but here's an overview. It's where the Star Spangled Banner was written. It was a really cool place. We were there FOREVER it seemed like. It was neat to see a big Carnival Cruise Ship coming into the bay, it made us all ponder about how we wish we were on it. Haha. Here's some pics!

Georgetown & Cupcakes!

This was so much fun! Aaron and I had gone to Georgetown a few weeks before these pictures that I'm posting, however when we went, we were not very well educated on the "ways" of Georgetown Cupcake. There is a TV show on TLC called DC Cupcakes, it's owned ran by two sisters. So naturally I really wanted to go to Georgetown so we could go to their cute store and get some cupcakes. Well everyone else in the world had the same idea. The line was so so long it wrapped around the block. The day Aaron and I went was so so hot and the humidity level was so high, it would have been miserable to wait. Well as we were observing how long the line was while we were chillin in the shade, a woman and her two girls approached us and let us in on the inside scoop. She said that you could pre order the cupcakes. YEA!! So I did exactly that and went back with some girlfriends. Who would have ever thought that a dozen cupcakes would be over $30! That was the minimum order, so we all split it. It was so fun when us girls went. Everything went so smoothly and I felt like "a big deal" when we got to by pass the line because we pre ordered. We went in and sat down and watched the people I watch on TV at work. It was so cool! THEN.. to make things better, the sisters walked in and I jumped up and got pictures with them! Amazing!

Ocean City

So we went to Ocean City and it was way fun! It was quite the adventure though.. You see it's kind of hard to find an affordable place to stay there I searched high and low. Well we ended up finding this place on Craigslist. The ad was for a little house on a farm that we could rent for the weekend. It was dirt cheap and the pictures made it seem ok. So we booked it. This place is three hours away, so we ended up getting there really late because Aaron and Hudson had to work. I made sure to give my Mom all of details of this place so that way if we disappeared she would have a lead. :) Well we got there at like eleven at night, and it turns out this house is in the back of a farm house. The man that owns the farm house built this little house to rent out to people like us. Earlier that day Steven(the man we were renting from)told us to just walk in to the house and that the key was on the counter in the kitchen. So since it was so dark and creepy when we got there me and Vanessa(Hudson's lady) stayed in the car while Aaron and Hudson scoped things out. While they were inside, Vanessa and I noticed a glowing light coming from an upstairs room, this really freaked us out. Aaron and Hudson came back out and said there was no way to get upstairs, so this was even more creepy to us. They started to get our luggage out of the back of the car and us gals were still in the car. I was in the back seat and Vanessa was in the front seat I was talking to her and then I stopped because I could see something coming from behind our little house and approaching our vehicle. I said these words "Vanessa... there's.. there's someone behind you..." WRONG words to say. She had a freak out moment and was spaztically trying to get away from whatever IT was and into the drivers seat. This person was short had long stringy hair and was hobbling towards us! AHH! Well she came into the light, and it was indeed a very scary older woman. HAHA! Turns out she was the sister of Steven and she lived on the top floor of this little house and she had her own entrance. Haha. Quite the funny story, well to us anyway. So the pictures you will see are of our questionable staying arrangements and our beach visit.

Fourth of July

So for the Fourth we went to the Inner Harbor. It was great fun! We ate dinner down there at a really fun joint, and then we watched the fireworks go off over the Harbor from Fort McHenry where the Star Spangled Banner was written! So cool! I couldn't believe how many people were there! I've never seen that many people in one place in my whole life! Our original plan was to go to DC, but we heard that was a really bad idea to go since we have a little one. I guess there are a lot more people that go there for the Fourth than to the Inner Harbor. Anyway, we had a really great time & Brighton wasn't even scared of the fireworks! Yea!

Swimming Pool!

So Brighton and I loved to visit the pool at our complex in Maryland. It became troublesome to do so however after our weird lifeguard made the rule of "NO STROLLERS AT THE POOL". So since this is where Brighton liked to chill out, I had to come up with another plan. So I went to the Babies R Us and picked up a floaty! It was 75% off so YEA! Anyways these pics are of Brighton in his new floaty for the first time.
